Taking A Survey Could Take You To Las Vegas
If you have strong opinions about how much money different jobs are worth--and how you get paid--there is good news. You may be able to turn your opinions into a free paycheck and a vacation.
By taking a few minutes to take part in the annual "Getting Paid In America" online survey about payroll issues, consumers can provide useful feedback that can help payroll professionals improve service. They will also automatically enter a contest with a grand prize of a trip to Las Vegas and two weeks' pay.
In addition to a desire to constantly make improvements, the industry faces a number of challenges, such as disaster recovery and identity theft. It is also trying to integrate a number of new developments, such as offshore payroll functions, payroll cards and biometric technology.
Your responses will go a long way to adapting these technologies and trends to the workplace.
The 2006 version of the survey revealed the following:
• Nearly 55 percent said that having health benefits was more important than having higher wages.
• Over 93 percent of respondents use their direct deposit option when getting paid.
• Well over half (56.32 percent) said they were not confident their private data (such as Social Security number and address) would remain private if their paycheck were processed overseas.
The winner will be announced during National Payroll Week--September 3-7, 2007. National Payroll Week celebrates the hard work by America's 156 million wage earners and the payroll professionals who pay them. Together, through the payroll withholding system, they contribute, collect, report and deposit approximately $1.5 trillion, or 66.8 percent, of the annual revenue of the U.S. Treasury.
Sally Thomson from FBL Financial Group, Inc. in Iowa was chosen as the 2006 Grand Prize winner of the "Getting Paid In America" online survey contest. Thomson won a five-day, four-night trip for two to Las Vegas and a free paycheck.
